Concentration Dalkia Morava /ZTO

2006-09-21
The Office for the Protection of Competition (hereinafter “the Office”) approved concentration of companies Dalkia Morava and Zásobování teplem Ostrava (ZTO) in its decision of 16 December 2002.

As a result of the concentration, Dalkia Morava will acquire 95 per cent of the stated capital of ZTO. The concentration of the above-mentioned companies was approved with a condition and a commitment in favour of preserving and development of effective competition.

Dalkia Morava is obliged to take heat from companies Nová Huť and Energetika Vítkovice during following three years, at least in the volume that would preserve the share of supplies of these companies in total heat supplies to the network of Dalkia Morava in 2001 for the duration of the condition.

Dalkia Morava also obliged itself to enable the competitors on the market with heat in Ostrava to connect their production resources to the secondary network of company ZTO in harmony with the Energy Act.

The decision has not come into force yet, the term for filing an appeal is in progress.
