St. Martin's Conference 2022

This year, the Office for the Protection of Competition (hereinafter referred to as “the Office”) organises its traditional St. Martin's Conference which will take place on 9 and 10 November.

As in previous years, this year's St. Martin's Conference will present the most significant national competition news and will focus on selected current topics, especially on horizontal agreements and sustainability, competition in dynamically developing markets, the Office's new approach in the field of vertical agreements, i.e. greater valuation of undertakings' cooperation, and the new Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on foreign subsidies distorting the internal market. At the end of the conference, participants will have the opportunity to attend one of the three parallel workshops: “Beyond ECN+” (amendment to the Act on the Protection of Competition and related practical issues), “Competition and/or Regulation” (selected cases) or “Determining the Turnover of an Undertaking pursuant to the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive” (practical issues).

For example, representatives of the European Commission - Maria Jaspers and Filip Křenek from DG Competition and Ondřej Vondráček from DG Justice, representatives of the foreign competition authorities - Boris Gregor from Slovakia and András Tóth from Hungary, and other experts in competition law and economics - Goran Serdarevič, Director of Frontier Economics, Vitaly Pruzhansky from RBB Economics and Ondřej Dostal from ČEZ a.s., representatives of the academic sphere - Marek Martyniszyn from the Queen's University Belfast, Jakub Chini from the Masaryk University, Faculty of Economics and Administration, CompetitionSphere and Michal Petr from the Palacký University, as well as representatives of the advocacy - Ivana Halamová Dobíšková, Jiří Kindl, Kateřina Mandulová, Jan Měkota, Martin Nedelka, Robert Neruda and Petr Zákoucký have promised their active participation in the conference.
