2018-08-29
This year, the Office for the Protection of Competition organizes the 12th annual St. Martin´s Conference which will take place at the premises of the Office on 14 and 15 November.

An integral part of the conference, as in previous years, will be an introductory panel dealing with recent trends and developments of the Czech and European competition law. The following panel will describe the role of competition authorities in the field of private enforcement of competition law. The agenda also includes topic dedicated to health services providers and healthcare in general, as this issue is considered to be challenging and important topic not only of the European competition policy; especially with the emphasis on the matter of the drug policy and position of the concerned subject on a market. The second day of the conference will bring a topic focused on harmonization and preparation of the new framework of combating against prohibited trade practices within EU followed by the lecture focused on current issues and challenges of the fight against bid rigging. Parallel workshops scheduled also at the second day of the conference will focus on current issues and procedural innovations in the field of significant market power, the settlement procedure and the question of excessive prices.

We believe that this year´s St. Martin´s conference will be an excellent opportunity to gain information about the most significant events and current trends in the field of Czech and European competition law, but also it will become a place for informal meetings and discussions between leading domestic and foreign competition experts from both the public and the private sphere.
